E-bags Of Dicks
[Twitter] is the Walmart of blogs.
Much as I enjoy the twitter, the little rant linked above (by Jess Fink—author of one of the sexiest comics of all time) rings true to me. Now twitter’s not a “blog,” and you shldnt take it so seriously. I mostly use it for 140-character jokes, rather than to “keep up with people;” but I have heard lots of folks complain that...

Gordon
I found this obituary for Gordon Knight, for whom Oskar Blues’ Gordon Ale is named. A little bit of Colorado brewing history.
Gordon Ale is one of th best brews around. I might even prefer it to Oskar Blues’ much-lauded cash cow Dale’s Pale. Reading that obit makes me wish I had been around here Then.

I Never Understood Exactly How Timothy Archer...
Huh. This explains why Phillip K. Dick’s novels & stories have those wacky, lyrical titles. It makes perfect sense: not only are the titles not in his style, but they often are only sort-of related to the actual contents of the books.

Mom wrote, asking all of us what we were doing for Christmas. My reply, composed 9am, December 23d:
Sad that Grandma may spend Christmas in the hospital. Hoping for no infection and that she gets better soon.
Our Christmas plans… Jen is working from home for the next 4 hours. Then she’s done til Monday. Tonight, trim the tree. Soundtrack: Phil Spector’s Christmas Album. ...

The Classic Pendleton
Via Put This On, this photo has convinced me that it’s okay to wear a shirt & tie with a Pendleton over it. I’m crazy about the look, and if this old dude can rock it why can’t I.

Robert Johnson
My friend E. asked me to introduce him to Robert Johnson. E. is mostly a fan of canonical rock and metal. As such, he’d heard about Robert Johnson (whose “Cross Road Blues” was covered by Cream, whose “Love In Vain” was covered by the Stones, whose “Traveling Riverside Blues” was ripped off by Led Zeppelin in “The Lemon Song”, etc.) but had...
