Red Lentil & Chard Pasta Sauce

John Porcellino: He Suffered For...
[F]or the first very many years of Cehsoikoe and King-Cat, the way I bound my zines was to fold the collated sheets, then lay them open, spine up, on a block of styrofoam and with an unlatched stapler, staple them through the paper into the block. Then I would turn the book over and BEND THE STAPLES DOWN WITH MY BARE THUMBS!!! I had no idea that such a thing as a Long Reach Stapler existed until...

Folks, I don’t know how many times I’m going to have to tell you: nobody did anything to Pluto.   It’s still there, floating on the edge of the solar system with a bunch of other chunks of ice, where it has always been.  NOTHING HAPPENED TO PLUTO.

I talked to my friend on the phone last night.  He lives 1000 miles away from me.  We have known each other since elementary school.  We have been best friends since junior high.  He confessed to me thoughts of suicide…not an intention, but thoughts…thoughts that wouldnt go away.  It’s not my way to tell someone what to do, but I gently insisted he get help.  When I was 16 I did...

RIP Peter Yates
RIP Peter Yates.  Thank you for many wonderfully entertaining—even beautiful movies.  Watch The Hot Rock.  It’s hilarious.  Obviously Breaking Away.  Hilarious too, and it might make you cry.  (You’ll feel foolish, you’ll think you’re too sophisticated for it; but it might just move you.)  Mother, Jugs & Speed…just silly.  Flawed but still so watchable.  (Can you...

It was nice to have a record store in the neighboorhood for a few years, but all good things must come to an end.  I never thought it’d last as long as it did.  It was a small place, he didnt have much, but I found some cool stuff there.  I always thought th prices were on the high side, but I’m cheap.  I grabbd a whole stack on what might’ve been his last day in business, and...
